While using Digital Equipment to create amazing works of art seems completely out of the question, lets be clear...WE AGREE!
However, Imagine it has solutions that can significantly reduce your time to create your sculpture. To sum up the process you will create a small (12 inch tall) maquette. We will then 3D scan your maquette to make a digital 3D model that can be viewed on the computer. This same 3D Model becomes the input to a CNC machine that will carve a foam replica to the actual size of your sculpture. During the CNC carving process, we program the machine in a way that we actually carve the foam approximately .25 inch below your finished maquette surface. This allows you as the sculptor to then apply a .25 inch layer of either clay, or wax to the foam we have created. Now your sculpture must be completed on the entire exterior .25 inch, with all the artist tool marks and uniqueness that only a sculptors hand can create.
Once complete, your sculpture is then easy to melt out during the bronzing process, or creation of fiberglass moulds. We are well versed in the processes, and we may just have the time savings method you need that will leave you the time you need to create a stunning work of art.
War of 1812 monument on Parliment Hill
This stunning work of art, created by Adrienne Alison, is located in Ottawa just behind the war memorial on the grass south of the east block of parliament. Adrienne created 2ft tall maquettes, Imagine it 3D scanned and provided life sized foam replicas. The full sized versions were then re-enforced with an internal armature and Adrienne coated the entire inner foam plug with clay. The clay was then sculpted into all the final details. Once complete, Fiberglass moulds were cast of the entire sculptures which were used by the foundry to create the actual bronze figures.
Guns, Cannon, Weapons, and even the Rope, were all 3D scanned items from period time, re-created from Urethane foam to be used for mould making.
The process did not take anything away from the artist's control. It simply created a foundation for the art to be produced on. An outstanding success, and true moment of Canadian pride during the unveiling.
This Bronze sculpture graces the entrance to the township of Georgina, Ontario. Created by International Bronze Sculptor, Brett Davis, Owner of Age of Bronze
Starting from a 12" tall maquette created by Mr. Davis, Imagine It 3D scanned the maquette creating a digital 3D model or CAD ( Computer Assisted Design ) file. The CAD file is then scaled to life size and CNC machined from EPS foam into the final sculpture shape going from maquette to full sized foam replica in roughly 12 days. The artist then coated the foam in wax as the foam simply works as a pallet for the artist to create the details of the heron. The foam/wax "plug" then becomes the pattern used by the foundry to create a full bronze sculpture.
The artistic talent in this project was 100% that of the sculptor, Imagine It simply saved time and cost in the process to delivering a finished statue.
We have the most life like, lightweight, and durable solution for faux rocks. These can be moulded into nearly any shape. Starting from our CAD design, to the finished rock surface, we can match your statues base requirements exactly. The best part is there are no size limits to how large a rock we can produce.
When you require mechanical shapes to be incorporated into your statue, we can provide a quick and accurate solution that will match the design exactly.
